Pack Charter
The Caisteal Pack Charter is a list of rules to follow. Should these rules be broken, punishment can and will be dealt by the alpha and elders.
Pack Creed: Shelter for the old, weak, and displaced.
It is rare for a wolf in need to be turned away from Caisteal, as their rules are simple and easy to follow. Those turned away or cast out are expected not to return unless change is made in their character.
The pack formation is not as rigid as most, with everyone expected to help and guard one another. Laziness, callousness, apathy and cruelty will not be tolerated.
General
- Respect. Respect of your elders, respect of your alphas, respect of your family, pack mates and outsiders. Wolves travelling beyond the pack lands are carrying the reputation of their families, and are expected to act accordingly.
- Obedience. Orders are rarely issued here, but when they are, it is of grave importance that they are followed, immediately and to the best of your abilities.
- Cooperation. The Highlands can be rough in the winter. Operating as a pack is essential in bringing home game over the cold months, and keeping everyone safe and healthy through difficult times.
- Violence Is A Last Resort. The alpha is old and tired, and has seen too much violence in his life, and will not tolerate unnecessary fighting.
- Help The Helpless. Not all pack mates can take care of themselves. Pregnant females, the elderly and the sick are not turned away, but their load is shared, and taking care of them is part of pack life.
Concerning Those Wishing To Join
Wolves wishing to join must wait at the border for a high-ranking wolf to accept them. Once accepted, they must go to the ranks thread and post their desired rank to be added to the list. However, trespassing without valid reason will be met with hostility, and taken directly to the alpha.
Concerning Breeding
The spring and summer months can be a busy time for the pack – an influx of game, the changing seasons and new puppies are all factors to be considered. Since Caisteal will take in pregnant females and couples as well, puppies are par for the course, but they are expected to inform the alpha so that new mouths to feed can be factored in. Mating outside the pack is not encouraged, but it is tolerated.
Concerning Disputes
As previously mentioned, unnecessary fighting of any kind is strictly forbidden. Individuals with a problem are directed to take it to a ranking wolf or and elder for deliberation. Physical violence or general nastiness will be greatly punished.
Concerning Work[/u]
If a wolf is not pulling his or her weight for no reason (no illness, injury or other problem), they will likely be directed to do so harshly by the alpha or another ranking wolf. If the problem continues, they will be punished, and if it continues beyond that, they may be asked to leave. The pack only runs properly if all wolves work as a whole to care for each other.
Concerning Visitors[[/u]
As with wolves who leave the pack lands, wolves who encounter a non-hostile visitor are expected to treat them with respect and escort them to the alpha. Messengers and temporary visitors are welcome, but their behaviour will be closely monitored, or else they may find themselves in a whole lot of trouble.
